About me
Emil Walsted MD PhD is a specialist registrar in pulmonology at Bispebjerg Hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark. He has a special interest in exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction and respiratory physiology. Over the latest 10 years, Emil has published 25 ILO-related scientific articles, and he is continuously engaged in research, focusing on diagnostic work-up and treatments in relation to EILO, and on understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms leading to laryngeal dysfunction. Emil also remains an active clinician dedicated to improving the lives of patients with ILO through improving awareness and understanding of the conditions and optimizing patient care.
I will actively engage in developing and maintaining an organization, which is relevant to both the scientific community and the patients. In the future I see GIILO as a natural authority to look to for professional guidance on ILO/EILO. With the promising support we have already seen, I envision the organization to grow to become an influential factor in affecting policies and attracting funding for ILO related work, and a great platform for disseminating knowledge about the conditions to professionals and to patients.
