Overview:
Breathing Pattern Dysfunction (BPD) is an alteration in the normal biomechanical patterns of breathing causing shortness of breath and other symptoms in the absence of physiological pulmonary or cardiac disease. The symptoms are very similar to those of Exercise-Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (EILO). BPD is very prevalent in athletes with EILO. This webinar will discuss BPD assessment, differences and similarities with EILO, review what parameters determine its diagnosis, and what treatment modalities are effective for this condition.
